About William
William “Not Bill” Nealy was a wild, gentle, brilliant artist and creator turned cult hero. The subjects of his many maps and books included paddling, mountain biking, skiing, and inline skating. His hand-drawn, poster-size river maps of the Nantahala, Ocoee, Chattooga, Gauley, Youghiogheny, and several other rivers are still sought after and in use today.

Nealy’s work
William wrote 10 books for Menasha Ridge Press from 1982 to 2000. William shared his hard-won “crash-and-learn” experiences through humorous hand-drawn cartoons and illustrated river maps that enabled generations to follow in his footsteps.
The New Book
Acclaimed writer Daniel Wallace delivers a stunning book that is as innovative and emotionally resonant as his novels. Part love story, part true crime, part a desperate search for the self and how little we really can know another, This Isn’t Going to End Well (published by Algonquin Books/Workman Publishing Co.) tells an intimate and unforgettable story of what happens when we realize our heroes are human.
